Napping,,

When we were young, our mothers told us to routinely nap after school. But ,when we got older mothers never reminds us to take a nap again, why? because they think we're not a kid anymore that can be forced to take a nap after school. But this case not for me, because until now I am still reminded to take a nap by my mother, before leaving for college,( since I have night classes )
I asked my mother, "why we had to take a nap? the nap helps students like me to be smart, and she hopes it'll help me to increase my weight " sounds absurd doesn't it?
then I had to Google for advice, and he gave me more than 5 benefits of napping,.

"When asleep, there are many things that happen in the brain. Brain right shows a much higher activity. Thing was weird because most people are right-handed left-brain dominated. But during the break, the right brain is the most active," said Andrei Medvedev, an assistant professor in the Center for Functional and Molecular Imaging Georgetown University.
So, here we go 5 benefits of napping:

1. Improve memory

A 2008 study found that during the 45 minute nap can help improve memory. This increase occurred in the phase of slow-wave sleep or short-wave sleep, as usually happens at nap time.Increased brain activity during sleep is also believed to be beneficial to learn a foreign language. The words or terms will be more memorable if often played while sleeping.
 2. Improve productivity
Napping may protect the brain from the information processing that occurs in excess and help to consolidate the newly learned information. This in turn will increase concentration and productivity in the workplace. Even earlier study found a nap can reduce blood pressure.
3. Treating insomnia
Research has found that people who napped for 15 minutes feel more alert and less sleepy, even when the lack of sleep the previous night. Its effects can indeed vary with each individual, but a study in 2011 confirmed insomniacs nap makes so much fitter for total rest time becoming longer.
4. Reduce stress
Want to cut as much as half of the stress hormone cortisol? Research shows that stress hormones dramatically decreased after a nap, especially if overnight sleep less soundly.A German study found that when a group of pilots sleeping less than 7 hours a night before serving, kortisolnya levels increased significantly and lasted for 2 days. However, when it managed to take a nap for a while, cortisol levels decrease by half.
5. Prevent heart disease
A short nap for 20-40 minutes can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart disease and stroke. This conclusion is based on research conducted by Greek researchers.
Researchers found that people who nap at least 30 minutes for 3 times a week can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease by 37 percent. According to this study, healthy nap should be done between the hours of 1-3 day for no more than 45 minutes. If excessive, it causes woke up with a 'heavy head'.
